Blue Solutions is Newest Member of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Family of Companies

September 29, 2020

Blue Solutions Administrator is the newest company in the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina enterprise. This Blue-branded third-party administrator (TPA) is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. The company will offer TPA services to South Carolina employers in conjunction with nationwide medical coverage through an in-network BlueCard® preferred provider organization (PPO). In-network health care delivery helps lower health care costs and is viewed by employer customers as an enhanced benefit offering for employees.

BlueCard is a unique benefit of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield system. BlueCard provides a highly desirable network of independently contracted doctors, hospitals and other health care providers. This is especially true for self-funded businesses with locations in multiple states and/or with a mobile workforce.

David Huntington, president of Blue Solutions, said, “TPAs have a well-deserved reputation for ease of administrative access. These services are often sought by self-insured clients who prefer a more hands-on relationship with their administrator. Now, our customers will have the peace of mind that is central to the appeal of BlueCard. This offering will provide our customers with more options, which is always a positive.”
